Check the codes and note what they are. Then pull the EFI fuse for a minute (engine bay box) and drive the car for a day. Check the codes again. This will give you accurate info on the current stored codes.

I just got 24 and 31 out of the ECU, so is the intake air temp sensor in the AFM? Seems likely. I'll reset it, and see if the codes come back tonight.

Yep...the AIT sensor is in the AFM. Check the connector to the AFM is secure after you reset the codes.

BTW - both of these codes will cause the ECU to default to it's fail-safe function. It will use standard values for AIT (20 deg C) and STA/IDL (determines injector duration and timing advance). The car will run, but not well.

OK, so. The saga continues. After a 45 minute drive at ~75-80 mph, I briefly slowed down to 40 mph for a interchange, and after that I could only go 40-50 mph. If I put on any more throttle, the engine would quit, it felt like it was running out of fuel.

I let the car sit for the day, and then drove it back home, it could barely hold 50 mph, so after about 15 minutes, I stopped and filled the tank from 3/8 full. After that it ran fine, unless I was WOT where the acceleration was smooth.

No codes were thrown, the first two did not come back. They must have been from when I left the connector off by accident.

I am thinking it must be a fuel filter, as no codes are present... any other ideas?

I had a look at the TSRM and I couldn't find info on the fuel filter. Whats the deal? Is it in the tank?

I changed the fuel filter last night. Couldn't they have put the thing on the firewall?? The car still runs fine while cold, and until I drive on the highway for 10 minutes, then slow down (not much, the car will fail as long as the throttle is let off for maybe 15 seconds). After that it will "cut out" under say 50% throttle, and get progressively worse until it won't go over 20 mph, and then it's go - stop - go - stop - go etc. If the car is turned off, and is restarted after 30 minutes, it works better, and if you wait an hour it's back to normal.

While it's on the highway, it works great... I have no idea what this could be.

Something must be heating up after the slow down, maybe something that is being kept cool by fuel or air flow?

No engine codes.

When I say "checked", I mean wire resistance, coil and igniter test per the TRSM, etc.

Have you pulled the spark plugs?
