I see alot of pics/vids of supras with just the fog lights and parking lights on. Mine how ever only turn on with the head lights on. Is this normal or do i have a short some where? If it is normal what is the best way to rerout/wire into?

It depends Canadian Modles from 90-92 have DRL's. Theyre wired into the fog lights so theyre on even when the headlights are off. But for 86s-89s and American models they dont, but there is a write up on here or one of the other forums of how wire them up to be on with the headlights off

In theory, all you should have to do is wire them into the same circuit as your parking lights. Currently they are wired into your headlight circuit.

Ya it's normal for it to do that unless you do the rewire.

Also the sogi short shifter is a love / hate thing. Personally I hate it and don't like the shifter so low.

I've got an '89. I re-wired my fog lights before I saw the SOGI mod. (I think I might have put a couple paragraphs into that tech tip. I know I did a few of them.)

Basically, the fog light switch doesn't work from the factory unless the headlights are on. The re-wire on the tech tips uses the park light output. I used a wire so that they can only come on when the key is in "run" position. This way they turn off while cranking the engine, or if you put the key in "acc" position to listen to the radio.

i basically installed a basic relay on the radiator support and wired a 12V hot leg to the third contact down on the fog switch, then from the contact down on the switch i sent the 12V to the coil on the relay and ground the other side. Then just connect the two fog negatives to ground and wire the positives to the switched 12V source on the relay... Now with the ignition on I can turn my fogs on and or off... Oh BTW don't forget to fuse all hot legs as close to your battery connection as possible... not hard at all, especially when compared to putting the fog lens bezels back on... PITA!!!
