Fix a dinged rim?

Anyone ever "massage " a ding out of ther rim? the bend is less than 1/2" deep (from a pot hole) and located on the inside bead.

I was thinking of warming the metal and using a brass mallet. Yes or No?

^^^^^^Are they expensive???? I have a set of Works Remax and on one of the rims, the lip is bent in about 1/4 of an inch and i would like to get it fix and refinished. However, i don't want to spend as much as a new set of nice rims.

Most respected places will charge around $100 to fix a bent rim. But, definitely take it to a professional. Most likely, it isn't something that you can do yourself.

I've seen professional wheel repair shops work wonders in several cases, right up to an including welding on an entirely new lip, then running it through the lathe to make it look exactly like new. Well worth the investment in my opinion.

They do great work there, well worth shipping a rim and getting it fixed.
In my case, it was drive down with shitty looking wheels, drive out with a brand new set of wheels and tires in no time flat. And this was on a Saturday morning....
The only thing they didn't do on my sawblades was repaint the "Toyota" in the center cap.
