I was just searching through ebay for a possible candidate for my new intercooler and i think I found it.

The endtanks look decent on this - most ebay crap has the choked off core with the pipes feeding almost directly through the lower portion of the intercooler. These should spread it out a bit better.

That looks like the skyline intercoolers, you might have to notch the frame rails to fit that in without it siting to low.

yeah, it seems alot of sellers peddle the skyline intercoolers. I have also noticed that, when looking through their "stock" pictures, there are always at least 1 or 2 intercoolers with a descent endtank design, but these are nowhere to be found in their auctions. The shorter cores look like the better options to me as there isn't that area of poor flow, nor is half of the IC blocked by the bumper support. Less volume as also attractive. Oh well, time will tell - I've yet to make up my damn mind.

Looks pretty good link? what size are they?

what about this bad boy, lol 5" thick.. http://www.cxracing.com/mm5/merchan...CXR&Product_Code=AU-IC0031&Category_Code=INCO

The ebay intercoolers fit perfect with the lower outlets allowed the intercooler to up higher without taking out or notching the crash support/frame rails... plus still work pretty good, flow 700+whp and cool decently (i wasn't running much boost, but iats never got over 100-105 at the end of the 1/4 with 18 psi on a 75-80* night..

just get a precision ic

I agree, the Precision intercoolers are very nice quality, and fit great in the MK3. Lots of those E-bay IC's will flow lots, but I really wonder how well the cool the charge scince the internal fins are spaced far apart, and there is very little internal surface area to cool the charge. I would never install a cheap knock off IC in my own car, but thats just me.

I've got a PTE "medium" IC and while very good, "eBay" IC's are also of very good quality.
Sometimes a brand name isn't really worth a damn.
That said, I'll run my PTE until I outgrow it... besides, it's not worth getting rid of. I got it brand new for $300

I never had any problems with my ebay ic, I ran 18 psi through my t67 on it and it never really got over 100-105 *f iat at the end of the 1/4 here in hot humid fl.. I've seen it flow 700+whp on the dyno as well.. good enough for me

yeah, I found them on ebay...$10 cheaper than their website on that particular IC. I do like the fact that it is a couple inches shorter and thus more exposed to airflow than the 24x12 ones being sold all the time
