im running a 3.9 in my 1j, twin td05-16gs, - 4500-7500 powerband

ive been tryin to decide if its worth it to go back to a 4.1.

i would have thought it would be better, get me into boost on 1st and 2nd faster. now after reading this im not so sure.

1st gear is damn near useless even with the 3.9. so is a 4.1 not a good idea?

Dan, PM me

I have a good 4.10 ring and pinion set for you.

I have driven cars that need a deep gear, and I think yours needs a higher one so you can spin through 1-2 and get up to speed, you car seemed to take lightyears to get to 4500. A 4.10, 4.30 will shorten the gears even more, but there isn't much point in being able to go 300 kmh if it takes all day to get into the powerband

Lol, my GT40 1JZ 5th gear didn't get into the powerband until 170km/h. It was pathetic on hills :). Still worked decent for planting 400whp on the ground.

Aaaa....The only thing I hate on the R-154 trans is it's 5th gear!
It is to long :icon_evil
And it takes time to fill up the 5th gear till the redline, which will
never hit.
By the way, is there anyone that hit redline with an R-154 trans
and 3.73 diff ???
yes, and it's not too long...
