Hello all! i was just curious to see what kind of top speeds and 0-60s people can run on there 7mge or 7mge na-ts. Currently i have only been as high as 115 in my 7mge but it can go faster. i would guess the 0-60 wouild be a little faster than 7 seconds. But if you could post your highest top speed and quickest 0-60 and a list of modifications it would be much appericiated. thanks!

0-60? dang I'd guess 7 ish... top speed? no idea. I hit 135mph and it was still pulling strong... I swapped to the 7mgte shortly after buying the car... the ge got piss poor gas mileage compared to the gte

#'s were on a fresh re-built 7mge bored .50 over otherwise stock

stock na supra with a 4.3 rear runs out of gear at 139 mph. ( aka redline in fifth gear at that speed) In the lighter 86.5 trim, and when new mind you, it would pull a 7 second 0-60 and a 15.4 second quarter mile. later na models were heavier and slightly slower, especially targa tops. Add 20 plus years of wear and tear, and you get an even slower car. Na's are fun, but speed demons they are not. And to answer the other question, 120mph, GPS verified. Anything the speedo tells you over 100mph is most likely incorrect. and I have pulled a 7.8 second 0-60 with exhaust, high flow are filter, premium fuel, advanced timing and a 4.30 lsd.

Exactly right. If the car had the power to pull over 130, you run out of gear. A very healthy car went 131 on a closed track back in the day.

My N/A hardtop with 3.91 LSD did about 7-8 seconds 0-60, and I had it up to 135, on a closed course of course. This was NOT GPS verified, but I did run the gear ratios and RPM at that speed (I figured the tach would be more accurate at that speed, plus I had the 3.91 gears), and that's what it came out to. I believe it was 5500 rpm in 5th gear. I could be wrong though.

so if my speedo read 135, how fast do you guys think that was... for some reason I thought my n/a had 3.73 gears (although I know they didn't come with those), I did swap in a 3.73 lsd when I did the gte swap... but mine was a 87 year model open diff sport model (hardtop, spoiler, no tems, 5 speed)

I don't recall tach position, but i was under the impression it'd do 145+ by the way it was pulling (obviously had plenty of gear left @ 135 (or whatever it actually was)

Was this the 7mge stock?

Toyota was building speedo's optimistic, and they did it on purpose. They probably still do. Power peak at 128-130 is already past, and sinking fast.

fresh rebuild bored .50 over, but otherwise stock

I know it had no problem getting to 135, but this was in mid 2007, I can't recall if I was on a slight downhill slope, in any case, the engine definitely was stout (for what it was)

that was on i40 inbetween central NC, and western NC, I only had it that fast once... like I said though, it was pulling STRONG at 135, but I didn't really see any need or reason to go any faster

yall can call BS if yall want, my speedo may have been off for all I know... but my buddy Corey Richthammer will vouch as we were driving back to Va from his hometown of Hickory, NC... he's a mechanic in VA Beach currently

I noticed the car and driver mpg rating is spot on (even though mine was a hardtop) 23mpg... -_- while the gte got 30mpg... at least the way mine was tuned it did...

Strong being emphasised, yeah, I find that hard to believe.

Ok. :bsflag:
good job

I was surprised to say the least (at how well the ge performed) but my car was a 5spd hardtop 87, no abs, no tems, 91 wheels (-28 lbs over stock) no spare.... I also run my gas tank on the low end, and I weigh ~140lbs... like I said, fresh rebuild, bored .50 over, VERY well taken care of

the car always had OE wheels/tires on it, and when I swapped the 3.73 and gte in I know the speedo was accurate, but it stopped working almost immediately after the swap. (displayed slower speeds, and slower, and then none)

I just pulled up a old convermasation my tuner was having... he's apparently had a 7mge up to 138mph, and blew the engine... but I'm pretty sure I hit some downhill (cheating) and who knows if my speedo was off. I let off when it said 135 though
