failed emissions....damn...

so i went to do emissions yesturday and flew by the hydrocarbons test, but when it came to my nitrogen, i failed. what can i do to pass emmissions? is there something temporary?

First, you need to list the emission trace. That shows limits and what you tested at, in all areas.

Then list your mods, such as your missing front cat. At least I think you might be. EGR delete?

Does it show carbon dioxide and oxygen content also?

Your numbers are pretty decent. Your combustion is just a little warm. You need to test a few things, such as EGR operation and ignition timing.

Do you have any experience as an automotive technician, mechanic, or helper? Or have any diagnostic tools?

Pretty close. The trick is getting the same amount that went into the air filter to come out of the tailpipe ;)

He could be lean or he could be hot. As you said O2 would be nice to know but based on those numbers he seems to be in fuel control. I'm guessing slight leanness or a funky EGR but I'll leave that grams/mile stuff to you. Gives me a headache, as has poster Goode in the past ;)
