i have a 88 n/a and im looking for a good exhaust for it. i was looking at the tanabe hyper medallion i know thats for the turbo but ive heard of people putting it on there n/a but i also have heard that not having alot of backpressure is bad for the n/a cause it gives it a loss of power and that 3in is to big. but what would you think about the medallion yes/no. so what is the best performance great sounding exhaust out there for the n/a.

Im stock, but i bought a gutted OEM cat... adds a little more umph, and makes it have a better tone, if you want even more noise, cut out the muffler thats between the cat and rear muffler.

well i just want to get away with stock.. i dont want a ricer exhaust i just want something that sounds good and gives me some more hp.

If hp is what you're after, I suggest looking into a GTE soon.

Otherwise, enjoy your Supra as is in it's quiet unmolested form while you can.


But if I had an NA and I had to have an exhaust, I would buy an exhaust that I planned to carry over for a GTE swap. I would also go with something quieter than I've had before(HKS Ti, Apex N1). Something like HKS dragger or the Tanabe. Spending money on NA specific mods that can't be used with a GTE is not a good way to spend money on a Supra.

This is just my opinion.

Go ahead and get the tanabe if you want it because by the time you figure how restrictive the stock exhaust manifold and cat are the exhaust isn't going to make that much of a differance as far as backpressure goes
