exhaust stud size?

Pulled an exhaust manifold stud and took it to fastenal to get a thread tap. should I be concerned that the stud measured size 3/8" Thread 16? I figured everything on the car would be metric

I used the same "fix" on a previous head. I didn't like it because the threads had a much greater slope but it did the trick barely. I never liked it...but it was only one so I let it slide. It's very snug around the manifold almost too snug.

Replaced the head and did the helicoil and never looked back. Even when I had to pop the head again I was happy.

If the head is off the car do it correctly, if it's on the car I would prob leave it that way.

or you could tap them for SAE size grade 8 bolts, thats what i did
