Does anyone have an idea of how much a stock 7mgte exhaust manifold is capable of flowing?
If ported properly what increase in airflow is possible?:naughty:

I come from a land down under
If you're serious get it extrude honed, hand porting is a total waste of time and effort as most of it can't be reached and it will only flow as much as the point of greatest restriction.

what other options are out there for those who have a bolt on turbo where a custom downpipe and IC pipe doesnt seem seems like a lot of extra work

Actually, most of the restrictions can be reached easily (the large bumps from where the studs are in the manifold) but it's cast iron so it's shitty work to do.

500HP+ has been done on a ported stock manifold...

Poodles, Ian is saying you'd still be stuck with restrictions down the line ;) All in the center of the manifold.

As cheap as T4 manifolds are for the 7M though, I have to ask 'Why?'

What he said^ and you can only take down the stud humps so much, but even then you'll risk cracks.

All the prices I've seen for an extrude hone job are well in the $500 range plus.. Doesn't seem worth it when you can buy a tubular SS manifold for $200.

Yep, I agree as well, but bolt on turbos are nice when all the stock stuff bolts on...

Going full T04 isn't just the cost of the manifold...

I ported my stock manifold years ago. Lots of work, not worth it. You could probably make a lot of power with the stock unported manifold, but where do you draw the line on inefficiency.

a true bolt on mani would be nice. Same DP, same turbo, oil filter head clearance etc. like stock

All but impossible to get a better manifold in there considering how close the flange is to the head. If you move the flange, the downpipe won't work...

Based on the log manifolds for sale that claim to have supported 1000hp, more than that. As we have a semi-log, short runner. Or there are liars for vendors, big time.

I wondered if that would get your attention. Their manifold is quite "ugly", but it is not divided, so it should have a little more peak flow. I don't believe it either.

If you can find one ;)

Turbonetics Exhaust Manifold.jpg

It's still a T4 flange and would require an adapter for the CT26...the downpipe length would likely need adjustment as well.

looks like the 2jz turbonetics cast. usually run around 400$ .. . (for a knockoff) :(
