Everybody point at the new guy

How's it going. I've been thinking about getting a replacement for my rx-7 ('86 n/a that I bought for $800), and something out of nowhere hit me on the head. I just started looking at mk3 supras and I really want one now. I'm going to be looking into purchasing an '89-'92, turbo, targa, 5-speed. Any help/tips/advise that you all can give me to help me along would be much appreciated. Thanks again, and I hope to have a lot of fun here

Just make sure it doesn't have a BHG or rod knock and you're good to go.

They are a money pit though, so be warned!

The more boost you feel, the faster you want to go, the more money you're gonna spend, the more parts are gonna break, you want to go faster, you spend more money, more parts break... yada yada its a vicious cycle.

You don't have to worry about me. I may be new here, but I'm seasoned when it comes to forums. I use the same name over at camarov6.com. Hopefully everything works out (I'll be in Vegas for about five months next year, starting in Jan. with the air force), and I'll be looking for one around May

well then, I might have to take everyone's advise and go for more then. Don't worry, I'm going to have plenty of questions. I know a little bit about cars (I feel fine with doing my own head gasket, exhaust, etc., but I'm totally clueless when it comes to turbos. Mostly going to be personal opinion questions about brands/quality. Thanks again for the warm welcome

You'll only need an engine.... trans...... Driveshaft...... rear end...... and rear axles, and you'll be set..... O, and a fuel tank...... gotta have it. Clean title, just a little too much rear quarter rust. Just a few more thing if U want it to be 5 sp...... clutch pedal, brake pedal, MS, and slve cyl along with all the hoses...... O, and an interior..... if that's required.

Other than the listed, I think it's pretty much "mint"... :icon_bigg

Yeah, I know, a v6 camaro. But hey- it was right after I got out of high school, insurance is good, interest rate is 5.5%, and I get 30+ mpg on the highway. It may not be the fastest car around, but my wife loves driving it. I'll try to get some pics of the 7, but you have to remember- I bought the thing for $800. Dead..that's a race car in the making.. a solid body stripped down..all you need to do is a cage and drive train and you're all set.
