Ive read that you can simply loosen the bolts on the subframe member to be able to get the oil pan off from under the 7m. What iwas wondering is is there enough room in there to remove and replace the oil pump? Im having weird idle pressure issues and id like to put in a new shimmed oil pump but i dont want to pull the whole engine out just for that. Thanks.

if i were to pull a good working motor and simply replace the stock bearings with new stock bearings is that concidered good practice? Seeing as its not very expencive or hard to do, or should i just measure clearances and leave as is if they are decent. Also, is it easier to do a headgasket job with the engine out of the car? While im at that if cylinder bores are good, is it considered safe practice to just replace the piston rings? All this seems like preventative maintinance and is fairly easy/cheap if ive got the engine out already. What scares me the most is the wiring when pulling the engine out.
