Engine won't fully turn when hand cranked

I recently bought an 89 turbo that is not running. I cannot cycle the engine all the way when I hand crank it. Is it even salvageable?

could be a hundred different things, your going to have to be more specific, imo pay a mechanic.

How hard is it? When in a compression stroke it will be pretty hard to turn over. Get a ratchet and socket and throw it on the crank pulley bolt and see if it turns over

Yea I did it with the socket and ratchet. Something inside is stopping it. I drained the rest of the oil and it looked fine.
