what kind of weight capacity for the hoist and stand should i be looking at??

my hoist is a 2ton-1/2ton depending on how far the arm is extended. I've had mine extended all the way out and its permormed fine when pulling engine and trans together. the stand, I think is rated @ 1000lbs. plenty for our engines.

Got a 2-ton "Cummins" hoist from that traveling tool truck that sets up in gymnasiums and function halls... those type... it was $200 with load leveler..
Engine stands, various places. CAP, Autozone, and Fisher Auto Parts
Got a nice 1,000lb Pit Pro stand waiting for me at Fisher right now...
Spent between $50 and $80 on them.

Northern tool.

2 ton hoist, that came with a 750lb stand, Just got back from the garage like 10 minutes ago and the 2j straight up bent the stand and cracked the welds on the front wheel. Im going to northern tonight or tomorrow to pick up their 1500lb capacity stand.

My friend scored a 2 ton foldable lift for $89 at atwoods and I bought the stand at either harbor freight or steve's wholesale for around 40 bucks.
