well as long as i can get the one for the engine i don't really need the transmission harness correct?Poodles;1129509 said:Dealer will be able to get it with your VIN# a lot easier than trying to figure out the EPC...
Also, so far as I know, the auto tranny harnesses are discontinued.
if anybody would agree that replacing a headgasket would be harder than changing the engineharness i would feel awhole lot better since i've done a headgasket job and never a harness replacement since i prayed i would never ever ever would have to do one.i rather eat cat shi@ with a sewing neddle then this procedure but if i comeplete this i will never have to do it again maybe.suprarx7nut;1129982 said:82131-1B702
^I think that is your harness, but you'll want to check with a dealer using your VIN. Report back if that number is right or not!
For what it's worth, in the EPC, ATM=auto tranny, TWC=non-turbo, and I believe ESC=ABS. Looks like the harness is titled "Wire, Cowl".

I think i'll take the whole intake off which will allow me to lay it out like it is know since most the hard areas are under the intake.:icon_razzthe last question is that when i run the end of it through the firewall will it have a connecting end piece that all i have to do is just snap it into th side of the ecu?Poodles;1130274 said:It can be (oil pressure sensor, knock sensors, injectors, tranny)
You'll really need to pull the engine halfway apart to put it on properly...
plus is'nt their an apparatus that checks the continuity in the wires, maybe i could find where the short is near the afm plug.supraman508;1130594 said:I think i'll take the whole intake off which will allow me to lay it out like it is know since most the hard areas are under the intake.:icon_razzthe last question is that when i run the end of it through the firewall will it have a connecting end piece that all i have to do is just snap it into th side of the ecu?

will take the pictures of the afm plug that was wrapped around the fan clutch.:cry:suprarx7nut;1131081 said:I would be doing this for sure. A new harness would be nice, but if it's just one or two wires, why go through the trouble.
Get a multimeter at your local hardware store/home depot and become familiar with its functions. Most should have a continuity function.
Can you show us pics of the afm plug? If it got mangled, you should be able to see possible trouble spots.
