Ecu question

This is a pretty simple question. I simply cant find the answer and am over thinking iot so need some help. When is the 1j ecu in closed loop mode and when is it in open?

The 1J ECU is non obdII so it does not have closed and open loop operation. If it did it would go into closed loop operation at operating temp and after a catalyst efficiency test has been completed.

ah ok i was on the right track with what i was finding then just couldnt put it all together.
