I was actually at the car show although I missed your dyno run, that motor doesn't sound like it needs a rebuild to me. Unless it's seen some serious abuse.

Only if it is rather healthy running car. Even stock and healthy, it might not happen with the different head castings. Look at stock numbers. Quite a few 7MGTE 5 speed cars trapped 89-90 in the quarter, and that is it. Yet others did 95 (allegedly stock). TRD back in the day did a mild build with the A340E. They claimed 330 hp at 13 psi with exhaust, boost controller, and fuel cut override/enrichment. It went 97 in the quarter. Which is noticably faster than the 88 it did stock. But it still isn't 330 bhp. More like 285 when calculated, which is what HKS claimed those power levels would do.

My previous motor was bone stock, all I had is the DM DP with a 3" pipe, aftermarket radiator, and was running 10 psi. My quarter speed was 100.58, and my 60ft was 2.3 (this was my first run ever, never launched before this).

what would you say the wheel horse power is on a car that traps 98-99?

I got 260whp/ 261 ft-lbs tq on mine at 7.5 psi.
My mods at the time were full 3" exhaust, MAFT basic in suck-through, and ic with hardpipes.
I think I benefited from a cooler intake charge than stock, and the only thing that the maft helped
with is the ability to mess with afr's, compared to a stock setup.

I don't think anybody needs a 57 trim just to hit 300whp.
I think I could have gotten close if I were able to bump my boost up to 12 psi at the time.

Off the top of my head, 210-220. Horsepower is calculated. It requires a certain amount to cover distance and to achieve certain speed in time. Plug in your numbers. A 5 speed car will hit 100 easier than the A340 for obvious reasons.

The DSM guys has an online calculator some time back. Same thing.

That's really cool

its says

Total horsepower and horsepower used? what does it mean by that?

mine seems kinda bad for the mods i had... :(

total hp 294 BHP
HP used 256 bhp

Best E/T 13.67...not sure what it means by that (assuming that's what i can run?)

Okay so after redoing the numbers a little and playing with it i used my last time at the track

98.90mph trap speed
14.368 e/t time

It was my car 89 Targa full interior/full engine parts AC cruise ect.
50lbs of tools
150lbs of me
125lbs of my girl in the car

so i entered 4000lbs as weight.

READING OUTPUT UNITS
WEIGHT 4000 pounds
TRAP SPEED 98.90 mph
E/T 14.368 seconds
Dyno Readings

READING OUTPUT UNITS
Total Horsepower 308 bhp
Horsepower Used 266 bhp
Best E/T 13.68 seconds

Ive used RP for the longest time, and been noticing that it burns alot to the point that my oil pressure gauge reads zero while driving. And when i went back to castrol, ive notice little to no smoke from the exhaust. idk i think ill never go back now bc of price and the fact that RP is more built engines not 123k mile engine.
