I took my thermostat out since i don't have heat.thought by doing that and running the vehicle without it for an half an hour that maybe i would get the air out of the system and maybe get the heat back since i don't have any.The outcome was that the temp needle was at a third of an inch away from the C for cold.I drove it for 15 min and the needle did'nt even get close to the half way area when driving. Is this a serious problem?

It will cause your car to run rich and eat more gas. What is causing the "no Heat" issue?

After checking the heater core and control valve, I found that my hose coming out of the heater core is plugged up behind the engine, so I put in a bypass hose. To help get the air out of the system, besides filling the radiator up on my sloped driveway, I did some fast reverse stops. All of a sudden my heater started working. :icon_bigg

lol. Check the heater valve. Seems to be a good place to start. There's a way to tie the valve open so that water/coolant flows through the heater core constantly, if it's not plugged up.

And put a thermostat in it(stock is 195, iirc.). The motor won't reach operating temp. correctly without it.

Wait a second..... why did you take out the thermostat?

It's not built into your cooling system for your interior heater....

I'm puzzled.

He probably figured it was so cold out that his car wasn't getting to operating temp and the thermostat wasn't opening, so if he took out the thermo, the water would get all the way through the system and into the heater core.

Ah, ok. That makes some sense. Thanks.
