door lock help

hey guys, my supra door locks do not work when its cold and i dont know why. to get them to lock or unlock i have to push the botton atleast 30 times and then they will lock or unlock. i know it is not the solenoids not working because when you hit the botton you cant even hear the relay in the door lock ecu click. once they finally do unlock they will continue to work fine until the car is left alone for a few hours then they dont work again. does anyone know what it could be? i cleaned the contacts in the lock ecu harness and also resoldered each joint on the ecu board itself.

my locks seem hard to turn. maybe theres too much resistance in the linkage. you could try some lube in there and get things moving around nice.

i think i may try that. its pretty hard to open my door from the outside with a key.

well my locks are not hard to move and i know itr is not the linkage. you can hear the relay click when the locks work correcly and i dont even hear that.

Have you looked at the door lock control unit?
It's in the driver side door, just remove the panel and you will see it.
If you look in my project thread there are some pictures showing my problem, one pin to the connector was corroded off. So I couldnt lock the passenger side door.
Your problem might be similar.

yeah, i took it apart and resoldered all the joints in the ecu to no avail. and the plugs didnt look corroded or anything. i think it might be the control unit. i might just replace it and see if that was it.

that also happens to my car and only in the winter. i never tried to fix it because it just returns to normal when the weather heats up. but if i was going to fix it i would just put some WD-40.

my 86.5's stick after a good rain or when it's really cold, I'm thinking it just needs a bit of lube..
