well, good news all!!!

no major damage!!! runs better now than when i bought it! had a lil issue with a cam being a tooth off there for a sec, but my buddy blew me off for football. i needed his timing light so i could do it right and double check everything, but he needed to watch football and drink a beer.

football was on the tv and beer's in the fridge.

one lil thing though, i didnt do valve guides or seals, but i did notice a small change in the vac on by boost gauge (aftermarket autometer). used to read about 20-22 in/vac now reads more like 17-19 in/vac at idle.

anyone with some ideas???

id write more about it, but im a lil sleepy now. ill go over it a lil more indepth tomorrow.

Having your cams out of time will cause a change in vac.

again, i thank you mdc! thats what i was thinking, but wanted a second opinion.

as far as the damage, i got the hg kit at advanced auto for 225, and i got stock yoda head bolts from toyota at shop cost, so i only paid 38 bucks!!!!

now for me to do a lil more research and find out the right way to set timing correctly.

well, after driving very very carefully for a few days i decided to check the timing again. found that the exaust cam was about 2 teeth to the left too many. got it adjusted right though. guell ill be spending my lunch break checking timing at the shop tomorrow.

if memory serves me right, i jumper e1 and te1 to check timing correct?
