i'm replacing all the brakes on my car and my e-brake does not work at all. when i pull the handle all the way up it finally stops the car from rolling. so i figure it needs replaced too. but i went to get all the brakes, the only ones listed are the front and rear pads. no e-brake shoes. i thought mk3's had shoes for the e-brake just like the mkiv.

Yes , mk3 have e-brake shoes , you couldn't get them at auto part store that's because they don't stock them . You have to order them at toyota dealer , that's where i got them at . E-brake is adjustable , you can adjust them if they don't look that bad .

Parking brake pads rarely ever need to be replaced, because you're not actually stopping any MOTION with them, which is the main reason your normal brakes will wear down. Chances are you just need to adjust the travel of the handle. Check your TSRM, it's fairly easy. When you do replace your brakes, get a reading of the thickness of the pads and check it against Alldata, or something of that nature to see whether or not you really need to replace them.

Yea, that's provided your car hasn't, or isn't being driven by one of the "drift idiots" who thinks the e-brake is a maneuvering tool...

well, i just went to toyota... it would cost $120 to replace the e-brakes. i also got a diagram from them on where the links are that i am to tighten. i also scored a free TRD license plate.... only cause i go there so much and spend a lot of money.
