Okay so I'm wondering about something. When I used to have my 87 Conquest TSI, it was common for the springs inside the distributor to loose there... "springyness" after a while and you would lose a bit of throttle response. So usually people would either rebuild there distributor or simply replace them.

I was wondering if the same thing applies to our cars. My Supra is at like 150,000 miles and I'm wanting to get it completely up to par. Is there anything I can check for in the distributor to make sure it's at 100%?

Also, when I go to put the car back together, how do I set the distributor to TDC?

I don't think you can rebuild the distributor, there is some checks you can do on them in the TSRM.

When you have the cam gears on the marks, the crank pully on the "0", the #1 on TDC, then you slide in the distributor so the rotor is pointing at the #1 wire on the cap. Simple as that. It will start, as long as everything else is OK, then you time it with a timing light and jumper wire.
