Well, Tomorrow is the day I start taking my NA 88 Auto supra apart and begin the NA-T Build.. I am planning on having it done by next weekend (Still waiting on parts) I got the car with 131k on the odo and today I just hit 140k on the way home from the local supra meet.. I bought the car with a BHG and did a Head gasket and replaced the bolts with ARP's it lasted 1000 miles and then blew again due to it being a shitty ebay head gasket.. So I pulled it all apart again got the head machined, checked the block for warpage and got a felpro.. It has been running strong since! I have put 8,000 miles on it without one problem, ARP's were installed torqued to 90 ft lbs and then re torqued after letting the gasket settle.. What I am doing is all GTE electronics, Valve covers, SAFC Neo, Front mount, all aluminum piping, HKS ssqv bov, stock turbo, 2.5 exhaust, etc..
What I am having a hard time deciding is do I keep the felpro head gasket or while I have the exhaust manifold, intake manifold, fuel rail and wiring harness out pull the head and clean the surfaces up and slap on a HKS MHG.. I have heard of people running 10+ lbs on felpro head gaskets with no problem so thats why im having a hard time just changing it.. Kinda like if it aint broke dont fix it, ya know?
Anyways tell me your opinions on this..
Thanks
