Check out these pics the first pic is side to side and the second one is with the smaller seal on top of the bigger seal, and the last pic is with the big seal on top and the smaller seal on the bottom. This is the front crank seal that sits in the block any help with the part number will be great thanks AL

I find it handy to have my vin number on me when I go parts finding. It would seem I can not find the correct part without it. Especially at Toyota!

Ya.., you can get that out of the driver door jam. Tell them the make, model, year and the #.

The parts system is automatic with the VIN as indicated. You don't need to investigate the part number.

I am not refering to Autozone/CSK brand or Napa.

Is the bigger one the old crank seal? Is there a part number on it? Given the size difference I can't help but wonder if you didn't get the seal for the oil pump drive instead.

Do you have the part number for the new seal you've got there?

That's what I just came up with... I wonder if he's got the crank seal for a MKII? '86 vs '86.5

that could be, when i had my 86MKII the auto parts store would always give me 86.5 + brakes and other parts, got tired of it and just asked for 85 parts, all the same, although that could be the oil pump seal. dont have one here atm just put it on the block few weeks ago

I've got an oil pump seal in the car... just no crank seal to compare it to.

Shouldn't be too surprised... they're still human. I ordered two cam seals but got two oil pump drive seals... I gave them the right part number. They still sent me the wrong parts.

I don't put up with that shite from my dealer. They know when they see me I'll bring things back and they know they are going to discount the original part I ordered because of the inconvenience. They work for you, they aren't just in business to bleed us all dry. But they will try if you go in there acting like a mark.
