well I was driving in my red N\A 89 auto yesterday and was making around 160km\h(around 100mph) and I noticed a light near the coolant temp. gauge flashing I checked later to see what that light was on the handbook and it says it's the coolant temp. warning light then later I suspected the stock gauge to be wrong I installed an aftermarket gauge(not a fancy one but still better than the stock one) and it showed that coolant temp would go from 90 - 100 but never go higher and I tried the same and the second I hit 160km\h that light keeps flashing and the temp is steady so any ideas why that light is illuminating?

if the temp isn't high, check the coolant resivour.
