so i threw a code 31 today and its idling horrible(AFM) this happened after i used a product by CRC called Mass Air Flow Sensor Cleaner, my MAF was pretty dirty and i would sometimes have starting problems to so i figured why not clean it. I followed the instructions to the dot, put the MAF back on and now i throw code 31. Should i take this up with someone or am i shit outta luck? buyer beware, dont use that stuff, i wouldnt ever trust it again.

Sounds like you will be needing a new afm. I also heard of that product but I just cleaned mine with a clean rag and even though it says that it cleans the sensor I just did not trust using it on my Turbo Supra.
Yep...using almost any of the cleaners you get in the parts stores will haze up the optical sensor. It's likely your AFM is toast.
Hey man, Im supposed to be going to at least Salem on Monday to meet up with someone coming down from Vancouver buying a WeezLWing. Maybe I can change those plans and bring you my spare electronics. that would be awesome Weezl and would for sure compensate for your gas money, i am actually going to be busing it for a couple months so i can get some car problems and modificatons done and done right because this summer i've gotta be ready to terrorize the streets of portland, so only bring it up to me if its not a huge hassle to you otherwise i can just by it from Jebus.
My AFM died last week after hardwiring my cps and installing denso 3wire o2 sensor. Threw code 31 and 24. Checked with Multimeter and resistances were all out of spec using 87 TSRM. I just bought a AFM this morning. supraman11203 has one for $75. My electronics were shot. If you just need a housing I have one.
Not a hassle at all. I love driving Lucy so its just an excuse to take a road trip. I'll come to your door...hows that for parts service? :biglaugh:
