Wow Kalos... Bravo sir. I have been dreaming about doing some shaving myself, how did you go about filling the gaps? I see metal but is the gap filled with anything? Keep up the great work; can't wait to see those tails.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I too have days where I'm not sure about the shaved look, but overall I am happy with it. I have decided to get rid of the body kit though. The purpose of the shaving was to clean things up and as much as I love the look of that kit on other members' cars it just doesn't fit well with mine. CRSupra, the shaving was done by welding metal into the depressions left by the trim, then putting on a thin layer of body filler. This way it doesn't crack after a few months/years. It was a big job and we certainly didn't rush things. My patience was wearing pretty thin by the end.
K-Shan, I was serious about doing some tails for you...I have so many designs in my head that I would love to build and try out. As long as you don't have a strict timeline and dont mind using something that hasn't been durability tested, that is.

Very strong work all around. Man...you have far more balls than I do to swap an engine AFTER a fresh (and expensive) paint job.

I almost forgot to ask you Kalos; what do you think of the Driftmotion exhaust? How's the tone and the power? And would that offer stand if someone else were to supply you with some tail lights to work on? I'd love to hear about some of your other ideas.
I like the Driftmotion exhaust quite a bit. Its a surprising increase in power, especially in the higher rpms. I'm not such a big fan of the sound (way too loud) but it comes with an insert to muffle it so I'll probably try that, and the size of the tailpipe tip is obnoxiously large. I may just have a different muffler/tip installed later on.
As far as the tails go, I'd be happy to tinker with an additional set and build it to whatever design you'd like after we brainstorm about it but I'd ask that you pay for the LEDs and boards and I wouldn't be able to give any guaranteed completion date. Not many people would like the sound of that and that's why it's easier to do it with someone local. But if you're game, let me know.

Well after completion of my 1J swap I am going to be getting my hands on some 89+ or JDM tails, I may have to send those your way, and of course I would be more than willing to cover costs. I added you on Xbox Live so we'll have to rape some kids on Black Ops and talk through some ideas.

These LED housings are designed to do three things:
1. Hold an extra layer of plastic that diffuses the light further
2. Keep the lights at a distance from the lens for extra diffusion
3. Contain any scattered light within the little rectangle so that just the strips are bright, not the entire lens.

Nice work, reminds me of mine, did a full shave on mine, all welded and color change. I didnt see a pic of the rear and the lic plate holder trim, did you shave it also? That was the hardest part with it being plastic.
