cam gear problems

k so i have stage two crower cams and obx cam gears and the cam gears were bad and had to much play so it wouldnt run barely then we put the stock ones on and it runs perfect, so this would be a problem with the manufacturing of these cam gears right? and yes i kno obx is a shitty product:sarcasm:

Yes & yes.......
Try Fidanza, unorthodox, or some real JDM cam gears.
The latter are usually the old stle for the 7M.

And someone on here is making, or has made
adaptors to use the newer HKS & GReddy cam gears.
But I don't remember who.

Play? How so? Do they have the dowels located properly? Just curious as to how they would have play.

had same issue after only 6K miles

mine became gapped so much so the pins in the camshaft created a knocking sound against the gears.

Probably only anodised and not HARD Anodised....... :nono:
