Okay so in the words of ricky bobby, I wanna go fast! First of all lets keep this stricly powerplant talk. So far Ive been a BPU 7MGTE, thats ran mid 13s, granted its been a lot of fun but time to go faster. The engine is very fresh and sound and I wanna take advantage of the Holset turbos that are working for so many and push things a bit harder, was thinking an HX35. Im wanting around 450whp, with a decent spool still, I will be using water/meth injection on 92oct pump, and hopefully still piggybacking with a GM MAFT. So Im gonna go over what I have planned, and if anyone has "been there done that" and has a better way please let me know. I dont wanna go the route of a bolt on CT, the price seems a bit up there, and a 57 trim at this level would be overworked and wouldnt like life much.
Im doing either a T3 or T4 flange, I know these holset housings are huge, Im mainly concerned on what will clear the block/strut tower

Thinking this exhaust mani

I like cast since they dont crack, but again, clearance
So this would be 2nd choice

Then some kind of EWG, pretty standard there, been running a walboro 255 thats rewired to 10 ga so should be sufficient already, injectors Im thinking something around 650s, since too big on a piggyback screws with timing, and I think 550s would be too small for my hp goal. Thanks in advance for any help

i have had a hx35 on my 7m but it was low boost like 11 or so and hit fuel cut right off the bat. What holset do you have? I have a hx 40 that i was going to put on but I posted it for sale and no one wanted it. On my 35 set up I welded the waste gate flapper and went external gate sounded so sweet. I sold it to a friend who put it on his 2j at 16 psi probably the scariest car I have been in shit is no joke. Summit racing have down pipes made just for the holsets check it out under 100 bucks last time I checked.

Where's the link? You know we don't want to do our own research. :nono:

I got this information below from http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?101938-gt35r-or-holset-hx35
-Hy35, flows approx 57 lbs/min
-Hx35, flows approx 60.85 lbs/min
-He351cw (Spools faster than the hx35, but makes the same power) flows approx 60.85 lbs/min
-Hx40, flows approx 70.10 lbs/min
-Hx45 (can't find the flow at this time)
-Hx50/52 or 55. flows approx 99.20 lbs/min
-Hx60 (Notice I didn't say HT60), flows approx 125.66 lbs/min
-Hx82, flows approx 198.42 lbs/min

A turbo moving 60lbs/min is said to support 600hp at the flywheel. He notes that the HY35 moves 57 lbs/min and assuming it spools faster than the HX35 because of smaller turbine housing.

Something that is not on that list is the sub model of the hx. I know the 35 comes with a 8 blade and a 7 blade with the 7 blade flowing more, I believe the 60 lbs/min. The hx40 comes with a 7 blade and a 6 blade or the super 40, I'm unsure of the super 40s flow but I believe the 7 blade hx40 and 7 blade hx35 have almost the same flow IIRC.
