So I plan to bore my block 0.020" over. I just want to install oversized oem Toyota pistons, any specific information that I need to tell the machine shop to get it done right? And if in case I want to go with oversized aftermarket forged pistons, any specific info to the machine shop based on my aftermarket pistons brand to get the block bored right? Thanks a bunch!

Nothing really but you will need the piston before the block is bored.

If you plan on decking the block, you will need to bolt the timing cover on it to have it milled as well.

My .02 would be go for the forged pistons, as they are a pretty good upgrade as long as you're overboring.

X2 on the timing cover has to be bolted to the block, don;t forget to tell the machinist that as well!

Don't forget to take the Tensioner and bolt it on at 36ft/lbs.

be aware- that spec only applies to OEM toyota pistons. Aftermarket pistons will have their own specs.

OEM does not have +.020 as far as I know. They have a +.005. If you want a +.020 oem type piston, you will have to look to an NPR piston.

Just checked the TSRM, looks like they offer a .5mm(.020") oversize too (didn't see the .005" o/s in there for some reason though).
