boost gauge and elevation question

im up in colorado so i have thin air, ive heard its difficult to get over 10 psi up here and its been making me question my aftermarket boost gauge. i have an autometer boost/vacuum gauge connected to the vacuum line coming out of the intake manifold that eventually goes to the stock boost gauge sensor. the aftermarket gauge says im getting about 10 psi all the time and about 16 vacuum at idle. on a hot day the stock gauge says im getting about 5-6 psi and a cold day it reads about 7.5-8 and there is a very noticeable power increase. could the aftermarket gauge be off or does the thin air up here get effected this much by the temperature, and could my lower vacuum be from the air as well?

everywhere is affected by temperture this drastically. and the thin air just means the turbo has to work harder to get the same airflow, your 10 psi up here wont be as much power as it would be down at atco.
