Block surface question???

JDub: Yep the boys used a Diamond Cutter on the Head and Block and the Head came out Mirror Finish but I wasn't happy with the block as received!
(They said it was ra40)

It only took about 40 minutes with the Lapping plate to give me the finish I want!

Lapping plates are not cheap.

For a 6" round plate (a little small but this can be used with care to do a block) this place will get you one for under $100.

hmm.. I'd rather a larger one like Ian has though. $500 is up there.

possible thread jack, sorry, but is there such thing as lapping the head to many times? the head im using might get a third or fourth lap/resurface. im kinda leaning toward not a good idea.
