BigZavs T56 swap/Finishing my 1.5JZ project

You know, I have one of those LS1 T56's laying around... too bad it's still attached to the SS though. Love the engine and trans in that car, but hate the car itself.

Nice build by the way, good to see someone other than IJ doing something different now and then.

Can't beat the V8 for sheer instant power and torque, anywhere in the RPM band, I might be doing something different, but not nearly on the scale that Ian is doing! just a lowly AEM car here, lol

yup, so i bought a quartermaster 7.25" triple plate clutch today for the lofty sum of $56 bucks, needs one new disk. still not bad tho

Got the Tilton/Quartermaster Triple plate in today, its hawt, if i had time today, I would have done dirty things to it.

well today, found out my trans wasnt as "easily driven" as I was told. when i was putting the stock input shaft back on, a c-clip shot out from the main shaft due to this lil bastard being broken.

finally made up another set of foglight brackets for the lexus fogs

saw this on another MKIII and liked the idea, so i copied it. bulkhead fitting for the main power wire

and i took this picture just cuz it looked cool

i would like to buy an N/A mk4 and do a 1.5jzgte on it. But that will have to wait until I have a garage tha can hold more than one car.

Got the flywheel in today, didnt get to see it till late tonight when i got home from the WRX. it weighs less than 7lbs.

heres the total weight of the clutch and flywheel, scant 16.8lbs

flywheel is for a SBF actually, but it will be welded, have the right bolt pattern drilled, get the flexplate added for a ring gear and then be balanced again.

also powered up the car yesterday, but i dont have any lights, headlights, parking lights, anything. gotta figure this crap out now if i ever have time.

i bought the previous adapter from a guy in Australia, but im not longer using that one. It's going into an SC300 locally now

ill be needing your help soon to put the trans in for mockup with the new stuff soon barri. i already wired in the new coil packs, those are good to go. and the fogs dont work yet, for some reason none of my lights work at all

Ross Machine Racing GM trans to 2J adapter plate

2JZ-GTE lower intake runner, bolts are close, just need some notching and all the ports line up.

May i ask what exactly was the positive or the reason for going with 1.5jz?
