Alright I broke down this fake sale.
Put the item on craigslist to attract attention with a great deal and false story.
Send a link to the interested buyer to a fake ebay site.
Fun isn't over yet.

Fake ebay site is hosted as http://www.aw-motors-cars.com/.
Whois pulls up a domain registered in Chicago. http://whois.domaintools.com/aw-motors-cars.com

You can see they list this page as being hosted by Internic.at
For those of you that know Internic is the world register for domain names.
So a first glance it could possibly look legit, BUT Internic.at is NOT the real Internic.
Whois this site now. http://whois.domaintools.com/internic.at
Pulls up as being registered in Austria.

So....
The fake ebay site is being hosted by a fake host which is then being sourced offseas.

These people put a TON of work into doing these scams.
Watch your asses.

Why would ebay list a item from a fake ebay site?
You obviously didn't read what I posted.
They get people in from other places like craigslist.

Fucking assholes. If they put all that work into something morally good, they'd be making money as well.... :nono:

....And not be at the bad end of a .45 down the road when their *trade* catches up with them...

damn that's one professional copy of an ebay site...

a lot of people aren't internet savy enough to notice that it's not actually from ebay, which sucks cause you know people are getting ripped off...

umm, yeah I did read what you posted. did you understand my post? obviously not. I did a search to bring it up that way other people realize that if they are forwarded to a link to ebay all they have to do is copy the item # and see if it is really listed there. Easiest way to find out if it is a valid listing unlike you tracking down all the locations of the hosts and ip addresses.
