if you want to add a bodyshop trick for removing the plastic liner so that it doesnt get stretched out what you do is:
carefully cut the butyl adhesive in the middle of the bead with a flat razor while lightly pulling the liner out by the edgewhere you are cutting.
this leaves the liner unstretched and leaves a sticky layer of butyl on both sides for easy reattaching.
