I was changing the oil in my transmission this afternoon, I unbolted my Suprasport short shifter, and pulled it out, only to have teh top half of teh shifter separate from the base.

basically the adjustable part came off. I tried putting it back on, but it was really loose, and I couldn't tighten the nut around the bottom any either. I just filled it with FIPG, and stuck it on as a temporary solution, but I don't like it.

Anyone had this problem? How can I fix it?

For $280 suprasport would be hearing from me. I was just about to order this shifter too, glad I found this.
Yeah, I'm not so sure about this shifter. I've been using it for maybe 3000miles now, and the bushing where the shifter seat sits in is already cracked from hard shifts into 2nd.

I think I will just weld the shifter together. Unfortunately, It won't be dampened then. I'll post some pics up tomorrow.

What bottom nut are you referring to? And the cracked bushing, is that where the upper pivot sits in the base? How old was your bushing?

The bottom nut I'm referring to is the nut at the bottom of the thick part of the shaft.

The bushing I'm referring to is the one the one the upper pivot sits inside. The shifter was new. I installed it, and drove it for about 3000 miles before it cracked.
