so since my 1uz project needs some more room to breathe i plan on shoving a nice thick radiator where the condensor used to be. my question is who else here has cut out their stock radiator support and made a new one with square tubing. its a pretty easy task and fairly simple, but i'm curious to see pics of other setups.
anyone make their own radiator support?

Have a custom radiator made to fit in the condensors place, you can make it extra thick. Check out jt2ma71's or Upgradedsupra's.
i got quoted $780 for a custom radiator with 2 1.45" rows... nuts... but i found a local guy selling a 26x16 with a 3" core for $180 brand new. its really maximizing the space.
I wouldn't modify my body or frame to fit an engine, especially a 1UZ? May I ask why, besides the fact of being different?
excuse me if im wrong but hasnt this swap been done before without modification of the rad location?
I can't see that particular support doing that much as far as frame integrity....if you gonthis route I'd consult someone who specilizes in frame moding...such as wissass(sp)....I wouldn't do it unless someone like him would map out my weld points...

that rad support isn't there for structural integrity. You can cut and re-weld, but i would spend a day at the wreckers and see if they have anything that was made for a bigger car that can fit in there.
That rad isn't a production part..ron designed a dual top feed rad and it was far from cheap! I'm sure viper would rather not spend that kind of money!

i already cut the oem rad support out, i will be b working on a new replacement over the next couple of days. keep a look out at my thread
