I am thinking of blocking off some air vents so I can install some goodies there. I would like to block them off at the heater box, so I don't super heat the equipment I place there. Any ideas or adivce?

Here is a pic of the vents I am attacking.

I don't have AC in my car but the heater does work and I'll eventually put AC back in the car.

Therefore, I wouldn't block off any of the vents.

I would find somewhere else to put whatever it is you were thinking of putting there...

ah fair enough. Even if I could block off one vent I think I would be ok. I am hoping when it all comes apart on Saturday something will come up.

BT: I figure even with the heater flat out it's still going to be cooler in there than the interior of the car closed sitting in the Sun in summer ;)

SM: LOL yep a bit more flow out of that vent and the passeger misses out.

Ya I guess it shouldnt be too worried about either way. Thanks guys.

I will still look into it and see if it is easy enough to block off though, just cause.

There was a thread on here a while ago about a guy who had two rows of guages in that area, and his guage cluster covered up the vents. And then the guy in germany who put the digidash in his car filled that spot with a nav screen. <- I was thinkinga bout doing that, but its too damn cold most of the year.

Take the dash out, and you can see it's painfully easy to block off the two vents. Just glue (or tape) a small piece of plastic over the vent opening behind the dash.

Not too sure I want to pull the whole dash just to get this done but if it comes to that....Ahh we will see anyhow I guess.

It takes 5 minutes, seriously!

You just pull off the center console trim, there's 7 screws holding the dash bezel on, then another 4 holding the dash itself in.

Confirmed ;)

There are 4 plugs as well.
(had mine out 20>30 times over the years)
