So recently I am having a problem with the 30amp AM2 fuse blowing. When it first did it I was just driving around town, replaced it, and drove it no problems for about 2 weeks and than it blew again just crusing on the highway. Than it blew again on thursday, and I went through 4 fuses in about 15 min, just to get the thing home. Let it sit overnight, took it for a spin and it made it 30 min before I parked it. Took it out again the next day, and the fuse blew.

Before I rip apart the wiring looking for a short, does anyone have any clue as to why this is happening?

I know the AM2 fuse has to do w/ basically the whole iginition system, and apparantly camary's blow their fuse because of a falty capacitor in their distributor...we don't have distributors though.

BTW, this is a 1j in a 88 NA

Looking at how random it occurs, I'd say you indeed have a short somewhere.
Guess the only way to find out will be to go through the wiring. It's a pain, I've been there and also have replaced a wire or two.
Good luck.
