Alternative auto transmission

So I am in the planning stages of converting to a 2JZ with automatic transmission. Being that the A340 variants aren't known for holding power I am considering other alternatives. Am particularly interested in the GM 4L60. Has anyone had any experience installing this into the MKIII body. I have seen/heard of the TH350/400 swaps and the 4L60 has a similar bell housing size so it shouldn't be an issue. Just wondering if it has been successfully done and what the final outcome was.

Most I've talked to believe the a340e built will hold up much better than a 4l60e. Depends on your powergoal obviously. ATF speed sells a a340e trans and have it on Supras running 9s and such. Seen a 1000whp 2jz 240sx on youtube which was also running a340e. I wouldn't rule it out. Best you could go is 4l80e but requires modifications. Otherwise turbo trans if you don't want overdrive.
