I come from a land down under
Using one of the B&M fan forced coolers here and should know how well it works in a week or so ;)

Stock cooler has to fit in the lower tank of the rad so it can't be very big I'd guess 12"x1.5"x2" maybe

The B&M coolers w/ fan are nice...got a temp switch included for the fan too.

Keep in mind the stock cooler is immersed in radiator coolant...it's effective, but not as good as the B&M IJ is talking about.

Yeah I am sure it is not very large... the stock one. If I am going to purchase an aftermarket one then I want to make sure I get one that will do a better job than I will need it for (if that makes sense). Ian, do you have the stock one available since you are running an aftermarket one now?

id think not!

LOL...care to explain that?

Especially the part about how a cooler (the same size) will have better cooling ability with the IC in front of it.

how much air flow do you think it gets there?

My oil cooler is located there and my temps never go above 183 in 90 degree weather, and while driving stays about 160 in the summer. My fans can keep a paper napkin stuck to the IC so the flow is real good there. BTW my fans don't stay on allthe time they are electric.

^^^ That was going to be my comments almost exactly :biglaugh:
MA71 knows not of what he speaks...pulled that comment from where the sun doesn't shine.

The fan/cooler combo does an excellent job of keeping the ATF cool...in fact, I'm thing about adding a 180 deg temp switch to mine to keep the ATF closer to that temp. On my tranny, it seems to "like" that temp shift/performance wise.
