I bought a battery yesterday, hooked up a couple ground wires, plugged a bunch of open vacuum ports, put some new gas in and cranked my rebuilt supra to life.....I have never smiled so much before:icon_bigg
My dad was looking for open vacuum lines and plugging them, then we actually got the car idling! we revved it twice and then shut it off. I honestly did not think the car would even start, let alone idle with a little help.
Whats wierd is that when I was swapping interiors, my friend Colin (mkIIIman089) noticed that that switch near the clutch pedal wasnt hooked up, but the car still started without it. I missing half my vacuum system and a bunch of hoses arent clamped or anything. There were no fluid leaks of any kind. It had a very raspy sound, but thats only because the downpipe is not bolted to the back of the turbo and theres a 1/2 inch gap between them.
We were a little worried when I put my semi solid motor mounts in, it seemed that the oil pan sat way too close to the sterring rack, but after revving the motor we could tell that nothing was hitting.
I still have things to do before I can actually drive it, but I'm happy we are making progress.
