I'm going to remount my IC so I figured it would be easier with the front bumper cover removed. Well I just messed around for about an hour and all I have is a gigantic pile of nuts and bolts and a bumper that barely budges. I cant get that top nose piece off? Is it in some way connected to the fenders because thats where it is feels solidly secured yet? I got some info from searching but if anyones got any hints/tips about where secret fasteners are or whatever let me know. thanks!

ps its an 88 if that matters

I think there's some behind or around the fog lights, did you get those? Also, crawl up under the car and look at the bumper up top to see if there's some extra bolts by the nose piece.

yea i didnt check behind the foglights yet. Im thinkin about just trying to remove the whole bumper assembly first and then detach the cover. sounds easier from what i've found searching.

It is not necessary to remove the header panel to remove the bumper. That eliminates the need to remove those pain in the ass two bolts in the front of the fender. Yes, it is connected to the fenders, so removing the bumper assembly is not gonna help any.

I have a removed 87 bumper in my garage. I will try to get you some bolt hole pics tomorrow, and post them here.

One above each foglight. Four on the main bumper support. Three (I think) in each wheel well, in front of the wheel. I think thats it. Theres no need to remove the nose cone just to take the lower bumper off. That nose cone is a bigger pita that the lower part. Also be sure to remove the blinkers and the center grill that helps too.
