So my girl needed to drive back to school Monday morning, and since there was really nothing to do I decided to do a simple brake job on her Miata.
We go down to the local Auto-Zone and get some rotors and pads, since I didn't feel like getting the originals cut.
Get home and I start on the rears.
"Hmm... this is weird..."
The caliper had ruined the pad in there and wore it down on a steep angle... so I was getting iffy.
After I got it off and cleaned it, I decided to put it back on to see if it was improperly installed by WHOEVER did the last job on it.
So it's back on and we go to bleed that side, and brake fluid just PUKES out of the caliber... (Yep, it's SHOT...)
Remember this is Saturday night now, and this car needs to be able to drive 230mi on Monday.... Where am I going to find a reman caliper?!
Sunday morning:
Call Car-Quest and they said pretty much: "Haha, yeah right... we can order that and it'll be in next week..."
So I was beginning to frown.
Figured: "What the hell." & Called Advanced...
"Yeah... we got (2) in stock.... 70 bucks..."
:love: I'm on my way!
Got it, installed it.... and it was a GREAT price!
What a relief.
(Sorry, I just had to tell you guys of my non-relaxed weekend!
