Well, I'm sitting here watching I, Robot. I see Will Smith pass by the camera in that sick Audi. And I noticed that the Audi logo is lit up with the brake lights. Then I was thinking of a way to incorporate that into the Supra because I thought it was kind of cool. So I was thinking.....What kind of place can/would make a clear acrylic mold of the passenger side rear moulding (side that says Toyota Supra) so that when I hit the brakes the "Toyota Supra" lights up?

I think it could be done and might look kinda cool if done right. Moulding the whole piece would be expensive I think, what about using a dremmel or something like it and just "routering" out the words and putting a red acrillic sheet and bulb behind it? It would take a real steady hand though.

you could make a jig to cut it though. take the logo you want to a metal fab place, have them cut the logo into some steel stock, then attack it to the moulding temporarily and use it as a guide. could use a side cutting bit ona dremmel that way.

its gonna be tough, thats for sure. i saw a honda with a type-r third brake light. the words type-r illuminated with the brakes. if you are gonna make a glow moulding, it might be easier to find someone to make a full set. front, sides, and rear. that way you could have integrated bulbs with a smoke colored acrylic cover. just an idea, but i think someone might take that job more readily than a one-off deal with just a small piece.

I thought of that too. I was discouraged because I wanted to put more money into the engine. But maybe I could do that. I just need someone who would do this for me. Anyone have an idea of where to look? I wouldnt even kno how to start looking for people who could make it for me.

might be able to make molds of the old mouldings, and pour a clear resin in it afterwards? only problem would be bubbling inside.

on a different note, you might be able to shape lexan/plexi with a shitload of patience and a torch. this seems like its gonna be a ton of work. ill try and come up with other ideas, but im not too knowledgeable when it comes to mold casting or materials with these properties.
