any thoughts on this I was consideing getting a beater and trying it just to see if it works or hell i will try it on my supra as I want to go turbo anyway.

yes, from what ive heard its true. acetone eats paint & fogg's lights tho, if you ever wanna get back at someone throw acetone on their lights/paint

I am going to try it in my tank my only concern is if there are any plastic pieces in the tank???? I know that Iowa uses 10% ethanol mix and is researching a 85% mix.

^^ search around, this stuff is bad, you need to know the ratio for it, it ups the octane like crazy, and can cause a melted cylinder. read the thread where we talked about this. stuff my advice dont use it, ur na.

As with anything that gives an increased octane rating it's a total waste of time and money if the Motor isn't tuned to take advantage of it.

Upping the octane being the only change you may even see a drop in power due to the slower burn.

More Octane= Slow burn and resistance to preignition so allows either more timing more boost or more static compression all of which will make more power.

More Octane on it's own does jack unless your ECU is hearing detonation and is pulling timing.

so a boosted motor pushing higher PSI would benefit well from this. I know that the Prius owners are reporting about 15MPG increase on several sites.

MP: Yep the best fuel to use is the one that just above the detonation threshhold for the motor.

This is where I have a problem with home blended fuels as if you get it right you have no way of repeating the mix without some very specialised measuring equipment as base stocks vary so much.

I always tune a little soft in case I get a bad load of fuel.

They used to put gallons of the stuff in the old boosted F1 cars back in the 80s... it withstanded up to 40psi of boost.
