finally got more time to look into the car to see what needs to be done and then saw this.

1-----WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THIS!!!!!!!!! I do not know where the wire goes to but I the positive wire looks like its been yanked off from where the negative was going. I was not in the mood to pulling all my radio and all back out just to find out.

2---- Since I am fixing the BHG I might as well clean up the engine bay. These wirering and fuse box and all these just "ugly" wirering is really annoying me. My question is I want to put them in a box. Is this safe? Do these get hot? They just annoy my eyes and I want to clean them up by putting them in a box (Its actually going to be a battery box. The same box they use on boats to keep water out.)

3---- Lastly what the HELL is this plug suppose to go to? Is it the AC compressor? My car does not have an ac compressor so I do not know.. It is the brownish plug on the left side with a red and black wire.
4---- Also I notice this is not an electrical question but I notice I have an open hose end in that picture... What vacuum hose is suppose to go there? I do not see any laying around.............. Its the one on the top left side of the picture.

Im glad you posted the last pic, as I have the same question. I dont know where that plug goes either. I dont have a/c either, so Im hoping that is what it is, but Ill watch to see if anyone else chimes in....

If you do decide what to do with all those wires in the engine bay, keep me updated, I would like to clean that up as well.

For #3 and 4, that brown connector is for one of the VSV's under the intake, that is also where that unconnected vacuum hose goes also. Looks like you are missing it.

For #2, that is your main fuse block and igniter (with the blue sticker on it) in that picture. The igniter gets VERY hot during operation and I do not recommend removing or relocating any of it.

For #1, those are not stock wiring that I'm aware of. Looks like someone hacked together something out of computer harnesses. I'd track it down and find out what it's connected to, it would suck bigtime to have it light on fire.

#2 - drive at high RPM for a bit, stop, pop the hood, and CAREFULLY feel that igniter. If you burn your hand, it's not my fault. Don't put it anywhere that it won't get good airflow.

#3 - that should be plugged off, or it'll cause a vacuum leak. Do you have an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator already? The plug controls a VSV, the VSV provides either manifold or atmospheric pressure to your fuel pressure regulator, depending on how cold the ECU thinks your engine is.

2]I will not touch it hehe. I will just leave it as is for that and maybe just clean up the wirers

3]Car came as is so I never got to see a VSV. Hope theres one under there somewhere. My engine is still and has a BHG so I need to pull it all out and fix this darn thing.

The VSV you're missing is the one nearest to the steering column, or so it seems.
That VSV is for the EGR valve. If you don't have the EGR anymore that could be the reason it's missing.

The vacuum hose is coming from the small vacuum hardpipe on the left side of the intake manifold. You can cut off and cap the hose there.
 
Agreed, #3 and 4 are the electrical and vacumm for the VSV EGR circuit. The vacumm comes off the Throttle body through a tube mounted on the intake.

As for #1, I would trace that back and make sure things are in order or remove all together. Just a guess, but it probably was the power to an amp / sub system at one time.

This is the driver side under the intake manifold closer to the rear. So if I do not put in a new VSV would I pass emissions test? Everyone keeps on telling me that imported motors do not even have it but I doubt it because then the valves would of been capped off to start with.

I honestly Do not know wth is up with the shop that did the install on this motor. I in fact do not even know if they know what they were doing nor where they got this motor from.

Car came home with missing parts on the motor, wires, automatic speedo cable on a manual which was half melted onto the exhaust, just pain in the butt. I just want the car to run nicely again. Whats worst was how this shop could even do all this work and sell their work to a guy who knows nothing about a car and didnt even bother to warn him. His lost is my hard work to own my mk3 :)

you can safely remove the complete egr system.
you can make (or buy!) yourself some blockoff plates. one goes on to the block and one goes on the manifold. I have some pictures for you.

then you'd only need one vsv (the 'front' one, near the 'front' ) for the power steering to have idle up.

Redacted per Title 18 USC Section 798
1) If your emissions test is ASM Loaded Mode or IM 240 you will fail without the EGR.

2) The front VSV is for the fuel pressure up system. Power steering idle up is done another way that doesn't employ electricity.

Uh, real quick... Saw in that last photo you had those white and brown wires to the power wire from the battery to the starter.

I did that on mine, and the fuel relay kept humming (on) and things went a little haywire. I hooked those to ground and my car runs now.

Just curious because I believer they're ground wires. Hope you didn't fry the ECU.

Not sure but I do know I had a charging problem awhile back. I barely got this car for 2 months and only drove it twice for 5 minutes total. BHG

I just notice mine has those blocked already. Makes me wonder why that wire and valcum end was never cared for.
