A '89 with no ac or heat

I can get only the high and low fan speeds on the climate control, if i press medium it still blows at low speed. i can have it blow cold air if i jump the AC clutch underneath the hood and i have no heat at all. sounds like the AC amp or the climate control it self?

I'd check the heater control valve first, if you don't have heat. Make sure the arm is moving... gl. Check the blower motor resistor(s) for the fan speed. Usually it's the low speed that packs it in first.

Yes the arm doesnt move. if i lift it up by hand i'll get heat. is it the whole thing needs to be replaced?

just take off the solenoid and flip the switch by hand, come springtime flip it again.

or remove the valve completely.. like i did..looks nicer and completely bypasses the switch.. and heater blows HOT HOT HOT

Before you go removing stuff, may try bypassing the vsv - link in sig.
Your fan speed problem may be the fan speed resistor. A new one is cheap from Champioin (about $15 iirc) or you could try fixing yours - http://www.supras.com/06/techcenter/display.php?QID=56

i'll try that. i just up hooked that arm and lift up the arm by hand

You could also just wire the arm in the up position.
