87 Foglight Problem

I have done the foglight rewire with my 87 supra based on the sogi mod. Every time I try to turn the fogs on the driver side turns on but the passenger side doesnt. When I go back in my car the wire that goes from red/black to tail fuse it burns up and makes a lot of smoke. So what I did instead was put that wire straight to the battery and it still does the same but a little bit slower. Anyone have ideas why this would happen. Thanks. O and im using the H3 55w autozone xenon lights

The switch controls the relay with low current. The mod should never blow a fuse. You get smoke from the tail light when you turn on fogs? Don't you think you should look at the tail lamp and see where the insulation is melting from the high current? To simplify, all you need to do is find a power source like the dome lamp which can run without the key, or whatever you want, and then ground the switch after the relay. Meaning the switch supplies ground for the relay.

Can you open the page with MS Paint and show what you did?

Here is the foglight fuse

Ran the middle wire to the defroster switch

And the far left to the ground.

Now the first wire was red/yellow which is supposed to go 2 a fuse or constant 12V.
Then the middle was supposed to be red/black but the person who wrote the foglight rewire had red and green which is like mine.
The last was ground which is supposed to be white/green.

Then when he said to test I did and the driver side light comes on low then the passenger side doesnt come on but there is smoke that is burning the positive side. I think its positive

And inside it smoked up the positive side or the 12v.

Got them on. After doing the mod correctly this time it still did not turn on. Everything from inside the car was good. I was getting power to go to the fogs. BUT there was no power from the connector of the fogs. So what me n my brother n law did was hook it up to a switch I already had. Here is the end result. Thanks for everyones help in doing this.

Ultra easy mod that shouldn't ever be messed up. If you have a basic understanding of electricity. This is actually one of my favorite mods.

The fogs should be seperate, correct. I haven't actually seen the SOGI page, but the comments about it seem to way over do something very simple. Like 3 left turns to go right.

Well, the car may "look good" with the fogs only but it's illegal in most states. Not that I care, just saying.

As for the mod not only is it overkill but it's electrically stupid. Next time you're really bored do a bit of circuit analysis and you'll see what I mean.

It works much better if you are actually in fog or snow. The water isn't illuminated blinding your vision, and the others can still see you. Probably why the Canadian circuit is designed as such.

I am not aware of states making it that way, but I can believe it. I know domestics that come from the factory that way.
