Thats so wierd why do some have them and some not then? Reason I said what i said, A thread years ago on Supraforums with this info. The "Oldschool" guys came out and said only late model cars had oil squirters. That made sense to me since both my cars have the engines changed. I figured they were from older supras.

I wonder why my motors never had them.

From what I understand, the very early '87 model GTE block did not get cast with oil squirters, that was changed later on, either toward the middle or end of the '87 run of MKIII's, or when the '88 was released, I'm not entirely sure...

The only 7M-GTE's I know of without squirters are Japanese-market ones made from 02/86-07/86. That and the Group A cars.

As far as I know and what I have seen, every 7M-GTE in North America should have squirters. The only 7M-GTE's I've seen without squirters were JDM import engines that must have been early production.

All North American Turbo cars were made after 08/86.

(EDIT: There's only 1 part number for the 7M-GTE block in pre-89 cars. There are holes in the block if you went to order a new one, lol. I don't think squirters were ever optional ;))

(Second EDIT: Just checked the Japanese part number for the GTE block without squirters, 11401-49575, and it changes up to the North American block and 6 squirters (11401-49576, 15703-42010 and 15708-42010)).

In conclusion, there were no GTE blocks sold in North America without squirters.

Wow thanks Jeff. They were both JDM engines for sure. So that must be it! I saw the whole block disassembled and all the parts spread out at the machine shop. No squirters.
